Why does this app require access to my camera and microphone?

Microphone access is an important part of the game, allowing your child to repeat the words they’re learning in the app. First Words utilizes machine learning (ML) to assess your child’s progress. Without collecting any of your data, it listens to your child as they speak and engage with the app. Machine learning allows the app to understand if your child is enunciating correctly and helps First Words pace the activities based on your child’s progress.

The app uses your camera for your child to see themselves practice certain activities, helping them better imitate their peers and participate in interactive exercises.
